Halloween

A witch's wicked cackle echoes in the dead of night;
Conjuring up black cats purring by the cauldron's side.
Candles are lit within lanterns of pumpkin disguise;
Daemons parade them in costumes all gaudy and bright.
While undisturbed amidst this frightful fantasy fest
A dangerous evil lurks underneath the grotesque -
The hideous selves we so fervently aim to hide
under the scariest masks - the ones we wear in life.
